A number of Acclaim's promising up and coming titles, including The Red Star and 100 Bullets, were prematurely when the publisher went bankrupt a few weeks ago. Those of you who had your fingers crossed for the street racer by the name of Juiced have new hope, as today, THQ has nabbed the exclusive worldwide publishing rights to the Juiced franchise. The company had placed a bid in for the property two days ago and were granted the acquisition from the U.S. bankruptcy judge overseeing Acclaim's Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings.
"We are very excited to have secured the rights to this strategic, highly sought after intellectual property," said Jack Sorensen, executive vice president of worldwide studios, THQ. "The team is off to a great start and now has the time to build Juiced into one of the premier brands in street racing."
Under its new publisher, Juiced will finally be crossing the finish line into stores in the summer of 2005. Far off, yes, but at least you know it's on the way.
