MGS2 Heading to X-Box?!
What kinds of crazy things does Konami have cooked up now!
Published: September 21, 2000
At a Pre-TGS media news conference last night in Japan, Konami discussed their plans for Microsoft's upcoming console-powerhouse, the X-Box. They mainly discussed the first Konami titles would be appearing on "The Box". But that isn't the whole story.
The games mentioned by name included Crash Bandicoot X (recently picked up by Konami, read about it here, Jurassic Park X, and Silent Hill X , and Metal Gear X, with each "X" representing the X-Box, kinda like Mario 64, DK 64, and Zelda 64. Although these aren't the official names, Konami did state the games were in development. No word on whether these titles are ports of current Konami title or all new titles, but the possibility exists that "Metal Gear X" could in fact be a port of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty game, currently due in fall 2001 for PS2.
Konami did not answer any questions concerning the possiblity of a Metal Gear Solid 2 port for the X-Box, or even if it was an entirely seperate game, but we will bring you the latest as soon as it is made available.
