Red Faction Official Website Launched
THQ and Volition recently launched their official website for Red Faction; an upcoming First Person Shooter for PlayStation2.

This week, THQ Inc. along with developer Volition launched a new official website for Red Faction; their upcoming first-person shooter (FPS). The game will be released on the PlayStation2, PC and Macintosh platforms in early (first-quarter) 2001. The site is located at http://www.redfaction.com.
This dedicated site features an extensive amount of daily news and coverage from other gaming sites focusing on the FPS title. You will find quick links to previews of the title from across the web, along with further information on the title, media clips, press releases, storylines, links, interactive forums, and media downloads including coverage straight from the games appearance at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
Red Faction has been described as an innovative FPS title that will stray away from elements used in the current batch of titles (Quake, Half-Life, etc) and create a whole new way of playing. The game centers on Parker; a miner located in underground caverns beneath the surface of Mars. The operators of the mine have ignored the safety concerns and dangers that lurk within the mine, exposing the workers to harmful elements.
A lethal plague within the mining colony has suddenly begun and tension is now beginning to form a rift between the firm and the employees. Leading this insurrection is Parker, who will find out that there is much more to the mining operations of this 'evil' corporation than meets the eye.
