Family Values Tour Values Gamers

Guitar Hero sponsoring a concert? Well, we suppose it only makes sense!

Family Values is a pretty big tour, and Guitar Hero is a pretty big game. So what's to stop them from joining forces to create something that will have a combined rock factor higher than that of a boulder? Not a damn thing. A second stage sponsored by RedOctane's Guitar Hero has been added, featuring Five Finger Death Punch, Invitro, Twin Method and two other currently unnamed bands.

While this is a pretty sweet deal for those who were already planning on attending, where's Guitar Hero fitting into this whole thing? You would know this if you were hardcore enough, man: aspiring guitarists who previously won regional competitions hosted by radio stations will face off in an epic Guitar Hero II battle in which the winner will be walking away with backstage passes, a guitar signed by members of Korn, and a chance to play Johnathan Davis after the show is over. Singing praise of the event, Davis said "This is the hottest game in the country and we are stoked to have them on the tour."

If you're not busy practicing your latest masterpiece in the garage, head on over to the game page for Guitar Hero III for our recent coverage. You might want to keep an eye out on Rock Band, as well -- it'll be making an appearance at this year's E3, and we'll be there to bring you the latest.
