Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Gets Delayed
So much for the release date in stone, eh?
Published: September 13, 2004
In announcement of its third quarter fiscal results, Take 2 Interactive revealed the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas would ship to in stores in North America on October 26, 2004, a week later than the originally scheduled date of October 19. Why, oh why, you ask? According to the release:
"The title's launch date was moved to allow additional time for final testing of the game, which exceeds the size, depth and scope of traditional videogames."
Seeing as Vice City was a bit bogged down by minor bugs, it's certainly not worth getting angry at Rockstar North for scheduling in that final testing. You can wait a week, right? Oh… you can't? Ah, well – deal with it.
So there you have it: San Andreas will be in U.S. stores on October 26, and for you European gamers, three days later on the 29th. Keep it here for the latest updates.
