Sony E3 Lineup Teaser

Will we see all (or any) of these games at E3 this year? Keep your fingers crossed.

UK ubermag/site Computer and Video Games appears to have a little bit of inside info regarding a possible partial lineup for Sony's booth at E3 this year. Granted, most of these games are either already known about or logical continuations of existing franchises, but that doesn't make them any less interesting. The list CVG nabbed includes:

Ratchet & Clank 2

Sly Cooper 2

Jak and Daxter 2

Gran Turismo 4

Syphon Filter Online

Colony Wars Online

G-Police

While Ratchet, Sly, Jak and GT4 aren't surprising (but certainly welcome) announcements, the second appearance of Syphon Filter Online seems to confirm 1950[/news]]our suspicions that the game is at least partially under way. G-Police and especially Colony Wars are definitely unexpected and have all of us salivating at the prospect of finally playing a more expanded, richer version of the universes that were first created by Psygnosis that may have been just a bit too ambitious for the PlayStation (especially in the case of G-Police).

CVG also reports that Gran Turismo 4 will not feature a physical damage model for the cars, but this isn't shocking in the least considering it usually costs more for developers to buy the ability to damage and deform car models than just licensing the cars as is. Some manufacturers, like Lamborghini, won't even allow damaged versions of their cars to appear in games, so having inconsistencies with different cars taking a beating and others speeding away unscathed would put an obvious damper on the realism factor the games have worked so hard to establish. This has actually been an issue since Gran Turismo 2, and Polyphony Digital has since compromised by adding tire wear to certain races to necessitate pitting in. Sorry kids, if you wanna see deformation, keep hoping for an updated Destruction Derby.

We'll obviously have a more official lineup as we near E3 in May.
