Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced today during it's E3 announcements that it plans to release a new Playstation 2 hardware package on July 10, 2001, the date set for the release of Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. This new hardware package, available for a suggested retail price of $329, demonstrates the company's commitment to providing gamers with Sony's best software effort so farat a reduced cost. For those who already own a Playstation 2, the GT3 game will be available for an MSRP of $49.99 on July 10th as well.
