Logitech announced this week that it's PlayStation 2 steering wheel, the GT Force, has gone well beyond initial sales expectations in Japan. The wheel was released simultaneously with Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec. The unit sold more than 100,000 units in its very first week.

Ted Hoff, Vice President and General Manager of Logitech's Interactive Entertainment Division stated the following today:
[blockquote]"Our installed base for this product in Japan went from zero to 100,000 virtually overnight. The initial excitement generated by the GT Force is unprecedented, and is a testament to the quality of the wheel and the value that force feedback adds to gaming. "In addition, the incredible demand for Gran Turismo 3 A-spec and the enthusiasm surrounding its launch has been simply amazing."[/blockquote]The GT Force steering wheel will be one of Logitech's major products on display at the 2001 Electronic Entertainment Expo. The wheel will be released in North America alongside Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec this July.
