Jaffe Hits CityWalk’s EB Games

It’s a promotion, you see, for what could be the best game of this year. You should probably write some of this down…

We’re not really a fan of this whole movement to make game designers more like rock stars around here, though we’re sure it’s inevitable with the direction the industry is taking toward going Hollywood. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some cases where any attention being shown isn’t completely deserved, however, and such is the case with the EB Games on the Universal CityWalk.

See, here’s the deal: EB managed to snag Twisted Metal and God of War impresario Dave Jaffe. Jaffe will be making a meet and greet appearance at one of the showier EB Games brick-and-mortar outlets, the Universal CityWalk (for those that haven’t gone there, it’s a giant outdoor mall that skirts Universal Studios Hollywood).

This means all us game geeks can line up and pass the time by waxing ecstatic over the PS2 lineup this year, though it’s probably safe to assume that God of War will be the primary topic of conversation, what with all the demo kiosks around and all. This isn’t a bad thing, though, as GoW has consistently been one of the best looking and playing games on the PS2 every time we’ve had a chance to check it out over the years.

You too can experience the joy of beating the snot out of a Hydra head or using Medusa’s decapitated noggin to turn enemies to stone, but only if you show up at the EB Games tomorrow, March 22nd, from 5-7PM. Simple, no? Ol’ Davey Boy (oh yes, we’re that close) will be on hand to sign stuff, take pictures with mysteriously flabbergasted attendees and just generally sit there emitting the good game vibes that seem to have permeated Incognito Studios games.

What are you waiting for, you’d better shower and start packing now, it’s only… 30 hours away!
