Kratos Descends Upon Retail

God of War II is here! God of War II is here!

Mere mortals, ye day has arrived! Kratos, the lone Spartan who hath slain his way to the throne of God of War, makes his glorious return to Earth and… game… retailers. Ok, so we’re not terribly savvy in the Greek speak, but no matter: God of War II is out!

Kratos returns in another epic adventure, laden with the task of venturing to the far ends of the Earth in an attempt to alter his fate after a not-so-fortunate series of events jeopardizes his role on Mount Olympus. Problem is, he’ll have to square off against the most notorious beasts and barbarians in Greek mythology, including Colossus, Cyclops, Cerberus, the Flying Gryphon, to get there.

Players are once again armed with the vicious blades (these bestowed by the great Athena), but won’t be without the aid of some blistering new magic, combat moves and even a few new toys to play around with. Vivid environments will once again be home to many a mind-bending puzzle, as well the button-timed mini-games yielding some ruthless results.

God of War II returns to retail, bearing a $49.99 tag and “Mature” rating upon its back (and don't forget that included bonus DVD with over two hours of behind-the-scenes goodness!). Those favoring the game’s sprawling soundtrack (which features the likes of Shadows Fall, Junkie XL, MySpace contest winner TraGic, and orchestral numbers from the London Sessions Brass Players and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra String Players and Choir) can nab it for $9.99 at retail, Sony Connect or through iTunes.
