Square has announced that Final Fantasy X has sold an unbelievable one million units in North America alone! And totals up to four million units sold world-wide.

Jun Iwasaki, the president of Square EA said that "with Final Fantasy X, our goal was to create a compelling, role-playing adventure that excites and challenges the hardcore gamer as well as the casual gamer". He went on to say that "we are very pleased with the positive response that Final Fantasy X has received from both consumers and the gaming community and sales of the title have exceeded our expectations."

As a whole, the FF series has sold 38 million units worldwide since the first incarnation was released over a decade ago.
