Major Upset

Square's Final Fantasy X was the best selling game for December... right? Click your way inside to find out.

Square EA's decision to move up Final Fantasy X's release date to December 19[sup]th[/sup], and it selling millions of copies within days did everything but insure it the top spot in December's top 20 selling games chart. And the truth is, it probably would have. If it weren't for a certain game from a certain Rockin' company called Grand Theft Auto 3.

In other news this month, Microsoft continues their gradual slide off of just about every multi-platform chart, with Halo being the only Xbox game that sold well during the last month of the holiday season. While Nintendo is putting up a fight with top notched new releases such as Super Smash Bros. Melee, and older titles like Mario Kart: Super Circuit.

As for Sony, they are doing as good as can be expected right now. The PS2 is rollin' along, in the sense that the top spot of every chart belongs to the sleek black box sitting in the middle of your living room. And the so-called "domination" by Nintendo and Microsoft seems far-fetched to say the least. But these are still brand new consoles, and their killer app titles are still a long time in coming. So neither company can be ruled out.
