Now on news stands, the September issue of EGM features a special, limited-edition cover, drawn exclusively for the magazine by world-famous "Final Fantasy" artist Yoshitaka Amano. One in four copies of the magazine will carry the limited edition cover of the game's bare-chested hero and his female counterpart in a swirl of blue flames. A 12-page cover-story package highlights "Final Fantasy X," the first version of the game designed specifically for PlayStation 2.

Electronic Gaming Monthly Editor-in-Chief Dan "Shoe" Hsu expects "a lot of people will buy both editions, or even multiples of the special edition." Hsu noted that with more than 33 million "Final Fantasy" games sold worldwide, the highly anticipated PlayStation 2 release will be garnering considerable interest.

Yoshitaka Amano is best known for his character designs and artwork for "Final Fantasy" and his collaboration with Neil Gaiman, creator of the Sandman comic. Amano's work is regularly exhibited in galleries around the world, from Japan to New York.
