Not too long ago, Square released one of the most anticipated PlayStation 2 games this year - the so-called killer-app that would change the way we looked at RPG's. It has been well over a week now since Final Fantasy X made it into retailers across Japan, so its time to take a look at whether or not this new game really fulfilled the hype.
It did. And it did with all its glory. SquareSoft confirmed this week that around 1.92 million copies of the RPG have been sold across Japan since its debut on July 24th, 2001. 70% of those sales were made within the launch day.
The real question now, is how many more sales records that this acclaimed RPG will break when its finally released worldwide. Final Fantasy X for the PlayStation 2 is currently scheduled to be released in early 2002. We will all be waiting.
