Square announced this week, that beginning on June 7th, Japanese gamers will be able to finally pre-order the long awaited tenth installment in the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy X for the PlayStation 2 console.

Several Japanese retailers also plan on integrating their own promotional plans for the game. Retail chains are expected to offer just about anything and everything Final Fantasy related, from FFX music discs and bandanas to wall scrolls.

Final Fantasy X will retail in Japan for 8,800 yen or $75 in U.S. dollars. The game will come complete with a secondary special edition disc with additional Final Fantasy-related media. North Americans shouldn't expect to see their copy of FFX until the start of 2002. It's going to be a long wait.
