Good God! After 50 gajillion e-mails, we've decided to bend. Most of you freaked after seeing the absolutely breathtaking CG render of Tidus and the sea, and begged us to turn it into a wallpaper image. Well, your prayers/nags/threats have been fulfilled. We present to you a desktop-ized version of the render, in resolutions up to 1600x1200, and everything down (cause some of you like cranking that desktop res up to insane heights).

However, we realize some of you aren't totally familiar with setting up wallpaper, and why we're giving it to you in 2 flavors, BMP and JPG. First off, to make things easiest, download your image at whatever resolution into wherever Windows is installed (for PC's), or into the System Folder -> Appearance -> Desktop Pictures folder (for Mac's). Windows users simply right-click on the desktop, select properties, and scroll down to the filename. Since you placed the file in the Windows directory, there's no having to look for it. Mac users, simply Ctrl-click the desktop, and pick your image. Again, if it's in the default folder, you won't have to browse for it.

So what's the difference? Well, for everyone, JPG's are MUCH smaller, but for PC users, don't really scale correctly under the Windows Active Desktop (which you have to turn on to use JPG's as wallpaper), looking a little odd and jaggedy. They're also technically not as clean an image as the raw BMP (although this is hardly noticeable since we saved the images with very low compression, keeping image quality high). The BMP's on the other hand, are HUGE (the biggest here tips the scales at 5.5 MB), but will scale more smoothly to larger resolutions without looking blurred or odd. Now, if possible, we recommend that you download the JPG and just resave it as a BMP. We realize not all of you have the software to do that, however, so for the sake of keeping things easy (and because we love you), we've done it for you. Just be prepared for a big download if you want to bite the bullet and get that 1600x1200 BMP.

So, without further ado, here're the goods in 2 flavors and 6 different sizes:

[1600x1200 JPG | 1600x1200 BMP]
[1280x1024 JPG | 1280x1024 BMP]
[1152x864 JPG | 1152x864 BMP]
[1024x768 JPG | 1024x768 BMP]
[800x600 JPG | 800x600 BMP]
[640x480 JPG | 640x480 BMP]
