A Freakin' Sweet License

Family Guy is coming to a console near you.

Well hey now, how about that? A Family Guy game? That reminds us of that one time we wrote a story and were actually clever with our references to the source material. Good times... But, those days are behind us now, lost in a sea of hangovers, so all we do now is try to fill a little space and then ctrl+v these suckers for extra bulk. Observe:

"The irreverent and satirical humor from Family Guy that has made the show a smash hit opens up exciting and untapped possibilities in game development," claims Christoph Hartmann, 2K Games' Managing Director. "We are looking forward to bringing the colorful Family Guy characters to life in a one-of-a-kind action/adventure style game."

Elie Dekel, Executive Vice President, Fox Licensing and Merchandising chimed in, adding, "2K Games really understands the distinct humor and unique voice of Family Guy. We're confident that they will develop a hilarious and entertaining game for fans of the show as well as for gamers."

Actual details are thin. It would appear that Peter, Brian and Stewie are the focus of the game (and really, nobody wants to play a game as Meg where you just go around being emo and getting made fun of), and that it'll be packed full of Quahog, Rhode Island locations and endless self-references.

Series creator (and supplier of nearly all the voices on the show) Seth MacFarlane will be working with developer High Voltage Software on the game, but exactly what role other voices and writers from the show will play remains to be seen. As soon as we have more solid info, we'll make sure you know about it.

Oh, and giggity giggity giggity.
