Electronic Arts announced today that FIFA Street is currently in development, as the next sports title to get the over-the-top treatment from EA Sports Big. The game is free of rules, and instead is all about giving players the opportunity to play freestyle street soccer with arcade-like gameplay. Match-ups with be 4-on-4, which blows open the doors for man-to-man encounters where you'll have to shine through skill, careful move selection and flair. In order to build an unstoppable team, you'll have to earn a bit of respect and create a reputation as well.
"What FIFA Street represents is a movement in soccer and a break from the modern game," suggested Wil Mozell, senior producer for the project. "We are stripping the sport down to its core and delivering a game that's all about freestyle attitude and individual skill, something I believe is at the heart of every soccer fan."
While FIFA Street currently sports a vague release of "2005," the game's official site has already been launched and will surely keep you updated over the coming months. In addition, keep on a lookout for FIFA Soccer 2005, hitting stores on October 15, as it will feature the first FIFA Street trailer. We'll keep you posted.
