Electronic Arts has announced that three of soccer's finest, Andriy Shevchenko, Fernando Morientes, and Oswaldo Sanchez, have been signed as the cover athletes and spokesmen for FIFA Soccer 2005.
"Becoming a FIFA cover athlete is an incredible honor," confessed Sanchez, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico. "I love EA Sports, especially the FIFA franchise. To think that my likeness is in the game, and that all the great teams from the Mexican League are now available, is tremendous."
"All three players represent the global importance of soccer and help make the FIFA franchise the most authentic and dominant video game on the market," commented Matt Bilbey, Director of Worldwide Soccer for EA Sports. "Shevchenko, Morientes, Sanchez and Viera have each made a significant impact on the sport and each brings a wide range of personality and style to the FIFA Soccer franchise."
This year's FIFA Soccer installment is set to deliver an even more comprehensive experience its predecessor, with a spankin' new animation system and ultra responsive controls to boot. In addition, the Dynasty Mode has been given some extra depth and the ever-growing EA Sports Online features are there too.
FIFA Soccer 2005 kicks one to retailers on October 12. Get the skinny on it and rest of the EA Sports line-up from www.easports.com.
