Americans clearly don’t get soccer like the rest of the world, this much we’ve established. We have our own kind of football, and in classically close-minded fashion, we ain’t lettin’ no dirty Pinkos ruin our rough and tumble sport involving excessive padding and helmets with their no-hands wussy offering.

So we don’t sell out huge stadiums here and even when girls tear off their shirts in victory and embrace in their underthings, we still can’t seem to rally around the sport. Hey, it doesn’t mean soccer games don’t sell well. Maybe Americans just like the virtual game better.

That’s also probably why we’re getting the game a little later than the rest of the world. While Europe can get their hands on EA’s latest FIFA entry, the U.S. will have to wait until October 4th for their copies. So yes, it’s basically a whole weekend, do you guys think you can hold off for that long?

Well, too bad, all those advancements to the Manager Mode, all the tweaking of the controls and the new cover athletes we’ve been prattling on about over the past few weeks will just have to wait until next Tuesday rolls around. Just, y’know, take a nap or something, we’re sure the time will pass fast enough.
