Driver Hits the Golden Era
Revenge is dealt in less than a week.
Published: March 8, 2006
Believe it or not, it's humanly possible (we won't say likely, but possible, yes) to redeem a once-respected series after a shoddy sequel(s) leads it straight down the road to Crapville. Seriously, Sam can't stop gushing about how freaking awesome the new Tomb Raider is, and with any hope, we'll be saying the same thing about Driver: Parallel Lines in about a week's time, what with Atari announcing its going gold and all.
"Driver: Parallel Lines returns to its original franchise roots with a very heavy focus on driving, including unmatched driving physics," urged Gareth Edmondson, Studio Manager, Reflections Interactive. "With its fast-paced driving, top-notch soundtrack, and a new storyline and cast of characters, Driver: Parallel Lines will be the Hollywood-style action driving game fans have been clamoring for."
And clamor away, kids, for soon enough you'll be hitting the streets with a vengeance (28 years in the joint after a job set-up might do that to you). Parallel Lines spans two eras -- the 1970s and present day -- and 30 main missions, with another 50 mini-missions on the side, all brought to you with the power of instantaneous load times.
And tunes? Heck, we got tunes -- more than 80 of 'em! The in-game, era-spanning soundtrack features the talent of Blondie, David Bowie, Funkadelic, Iggy Pop, WAR, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, The Roots, LCD Soundsystem, TV on the Radio, Kaiser Chiefs, Secret Machines and The Dead 60's, not to mention exclusives from Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash, Suicide, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arthur Baker, Mylo, Paul Oakenfold, Lifesavas featuring Vernon Reid, and the Audio Bullys. We want that volume knob cranked, you hear us?
TK is back in town on March 14, and if you don't know who we're talking about, then you clearly haven't been reading our updates. Fingers crossed, people.
