Awake! Again!
Dante’s back on the job, but not without a few new surprises.

Demon-slaying isn’t easy work. Especially when it involves repeatedly getting hacked to pieces by your ruthless opponents and (sans a yellow orb to save your ass) having to traverse through an entire level from start, just to have your ass handed to you again. Ok, so we’re still a little bitter about DMC3’s steep difficulty, but if there were anyway to get us back into the groove of masterfully hackin’ n’ slashin’, Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition is totally it.
It plays out as a favorable series of events for Capcom. First, it’s, “hey, our game has been out for three-quarters of a year and has sold more than 400,000 copies. That’s pretty good” Soon, it becomes, “hey, doesn’t that mean we can re-release it as a Greatest Hit, so anyone who didn’t buy it before will be unable to resist a $19.99 price point?” Finally, it evolves into, “HEY, let’s supe it up with a plethora of bonus content, like making Virgil a playable character, throw in a Turbo Option, a bonus survival mode, etc. etc. etc.!” With logic like that, you’d think they’d be a multi-billion dollar company by now! Oh, wait…
So if you’ve succumbed to the ploy or honestly didn’t give DMC3 a try, now’s your chance. Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition is currently rocking shelves with its $20 price tag, wealth of new content and a shiny, new box. Why yes, Dante, it is showtime.
