Enlist in the Alien Army

Uncle Crypto wants you!

THQ is no stranger to the quasi-viral marketing campaign, from the mock journalist that first turned up at their 2001 Gamers' Day event in Vegas chronicling the "top secret" project the newly-acquired Rainbow Studios was working on to... okay, that's all we can think of right now. But hey, add another effort to the mix: The Alien Army, the new mock recruitment web site designed to spread the word about Destroy All Humans.

We're already in love with the game (as evidenced by our preview), so we're all over giving the game more coverage. Registering for the web site gives you access to the usual screens, forums, e-mail, and information on the game (y'know, once you're read our preview and clicked on all our images, of course), but will include prize giveaways and the nebulously-phrased "member only exclusives."

"We're here to make sure our alien friends are not misunderstood or misrepresented," said Wag, oddly-monikered webmaster of AlienArmy.com. "I mean, sure the game is called Destroy All Humans!, but I don't think they really mean it. Why else would anyone who joins the Alien Army be granted access to the mothership, instead of being left on Earth?"

"Destroy All Humans is one of the most anticipated titles of 2005 and is another example of THQ's growing presence in the core gamer market." said Peter Dille, THQ's Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing. "The game has a style and feel all its own, and we've been focused on delivering a marketing campaign as original as the title itself."

I can't speak for the rest of the staff here, but I, for one, welcome our grey-skinned overlords.
