The sequel to one of the best BMX racing titles of all time, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 will feature ten time World Champion and 11 time X Games medallist, Dave Mirra along with 2000 X Games Champion, Ryan Nyquist. Just like the first game, the sequel will feature many other top BMX pros to round out the action.

In Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, players will be able to create their own riders and choose their own sponsors. A wide variety of challenges can be completed in order to progress through the game to earn the respect of fellow riders. Of course, the ultimate goal is to knock Dave Mirra from the top BMX rider position.

Players can expect to see eight new interactive environments which are four times as large as before, along with integrated traffic systems with moving vehicles, fellow riders and pedestrians.

The open trick system first introduced in the original Dave Mirra title will be implemented once more, with more than 1,500 accessible tricks to perform -- more than any other featured before in a BMX or skateboarding title. Ten multiplayer games will also be included, including a special event known as the Bikathalon, which allows riders to play all of the multiplayer games in one single competition.

Steve Felsen, Director of Brand Management for Acclaim stated the following in regards to the announcement:
[blockquote]This is a great extension of the Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX brand. This raises the bar for extreme sports games of any kind as the gamer can literally create his own experience using our new custom Rider and Park editors and the hugely successful trick modifier from the first game."[/blockquote]Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, which will be published by Acclaim Max Sports, and developed by Z-Axis, will ship out to retail outlets across North America in Fall of 2001. We will keep you posted.
