DDR Song Contest Winners Found

You'll be stomping around to the sounds of indie artists Beatdrop and Sanxion7 soon.

Back when it was first announced that Konami was teaming up with online indie music depository Broadjam actively looking for lesser-known electronica artists to include in future Dance Dance Revolution games, we flipped out calling it a brilliant move. We still feel that way, and now that we've heard the winners, we can't help but be a little psyched for 'em.

“Once again, the Broadjam members provided us with an overwhelming selection of songs that were perfect for our game,” gushed Stillwind Borenstein, Music Director for Konami Digital Entertainment. “Working with Broadjam on this contest was again a pleasure and so much fun.”

“We’re pleased and honored that we had the opportunity to work with Konami again in the music search for their great Dance Dance Revolution product,” returned Roy Elkins, Broadjam's Founder and CEO. “This being the second year of the contest, we got even more great submissions and Konami was able to pick from a ton of terrific music.”

So who, exactly was plucked from the 71,000+ member/255,000+ song database? There was Beatdrop with "Until Forever," a heavily BT-sounding mix of breaks, edits and effects layered on top of each other, and Sanxion7's slightly trancey "EternuS," which not only has the distinction of apparently having a fan somewhere at Microsoft (Word's spellchecker counts "Sanxion7" as a normal word), but a song that seems all but custom made to fit in with the poppy, energetic soundtrack. Both are surprisingly good fits, and you can hear them in their entirety, for free, by visiting Broadjam's web site.

Congrats to the winners, and we can't wait to get down to them funky new tunes!
