SuperNOVA Imminent

It's time for a DDR explosion.

Some news stories we can pad with lots of useless junk to make them seem longer. It's what we do best, after all (well, that and procrastinating on updates, we do that even better). Thing is, beyond getting into the awe and mystery that is the Ranging Lumberjack Style of Dance Dance Revolution stomp-a-thons, there's not much here that we throw out before announcing that the latest game in the series has finally hit the PlayStation 2.

Oh, we can mention some basic good about the game, of course, but that would be actual news, and that we are most certainly not good at (italicizing words, though, we effing own). But we'll try anyway because we love you.

Boasting a massive 70+ song soundtrack with even more songs from artists even those outside the DDR scene will recognize like David Bowie, The Crystal Method, Franz Ferdinand and Fall Out Boy, Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA is rather... shall we say loaded with four-way dance goodness.

Online play, EyeToy support, the calorie-tracking Workout Mode, and that all-too-familiar gameplay are still in place, but joining them are a brand new engine, Battle Mode (which lets you change the other guy's steps as he's playing) and an expanded Tutorial Mode to ensure that even newcomers (if there are any of you left) can learn how to play. The game should be on store shelves as soon as you finish reading this -- or at the very least on the way there for a guaranteed spot tomorrow.

Oh, hey, how about that, we actually can cut right to the chase. We might have to try this more often, but don't worry, we'll be back to three paragraphs on how awesome it is when cheese melts in a story about a fighting game in no time.
