EXTREEEEEEEME... 2

New DDR is here! New DDR is here!

If you listen veeeeeery carefully, you can hear a light tremor. It’s one of two things: either the TPS offices are alight with dancing, or a huge mass of the remaining people still interested in dancing games are heading to stores in droves. Either way, there’s a good chance Dance Dance Revolution is involved in there somewhere.

There’s good reason to be excited, though; DDR EXTREME 2 actually incorporates some of the things that the series has been seriously hurting for over the years, and it makes for one of the most compelling reasons to check the series out if you haven’t gotten into it yet.

Chiefly, the biggest improvements have come to the online mode (a first for the PS2 version, where previously PS2 owners had to glare menacingly as Xbox players could dance their brains out against others), and the single-player mode, which introduces a Dance Master part of the game offering a branching series of songs that unlock more content.

"The Dance Dance Revolution series has been consistently recognized for its innovation and engaging gameplay," said Jason Enos, Product Manager and Part-Time Pimp at Konami Digital Entertainment - America. "By adding online gameplay for the first time, we are able bring our fans a DDR experience that is every bit as compelling as the game itself."

We spazzed out all over the game in our preview a while back, and the game page is literally bursting with screenshots and info, so head on over and check it out before stretching and heading over to your nearest store to begin the addiction anew.
