THQ today announced Big Mutha Truckers 2: Truck Me Harder! (you heard right) as the upcoming sequel to 2003's trucking simulator.

"With sales of the original Big Mutha Truckers exceeding one million units, we are excited to bring more down home fun to the major consoles with this second installment to the top-selling brand," admitted Tiffany Ternan, senior vice president North American sales and distribution, THQ. "Big Mutha Truckers 2: Truck Me Harder! is sure to provide a fun-filled experience with comedic characters, on-road action and strategic wheeling and dealing."

While the first game had players racing to inherit Big Mutha Truckers Haulage Inc. from their retiring Ma Jackson, Big Mutha Truckers 2 begins with Ma being taken into police custody for evasion. The only solution comes by way of hiring the praised Cousin Jacob to handle legal matters, therefore players will have to resort to trucking to raise enough cash to bribe the jurors and free Ma. Like its predecessor, the game will very much be free-roaming, featuring additional routes and hidden shortcuts, as well as featuring a streamlined trading process, more of a focus on on-road action, and the ability to take the wheel of multiple vehicles.

Big Mutha Truckers 2 will be truckin' on into stores in summer 2005. The game is being developed by returning UK-based developer Eutechnyx.
