Bring On the Battlefield!

And with $250,000 on the line in EA’s Battlefield 2: Modern Combat tournament, who wouldn’t be yelling that?

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat has only been out for a week, but if you’ve been honing those gun-touting skills day and night, by golly, it’s about time you showed something for it. Just what are we suggesting? Shoot, boy, we want you to enlist… in the “Best of the Battlefield” tournament, that is! Today commences registration for Electronic Arts’ “most adrenaline-soaked online tournament” evar, pitting clan against clan in some truly fierce online action until only ONE REMAINS... well, two, if you account for both consoles, but you get the point.

What's that you ask about? Prizes? Think of the satisfaction of victory, man! The camaraderie! Th--aw hell, here’s what’s at stake:

Grand Prize
$250,000 - One cash purse awarded to the team that wins their platform bracket and the championship.

First Prize
$50,000 - One cash purse awarded to the team that wins their platform bracket but loses the championship.

Second Prize
$10,000 - One cash purse awarded to each of the two teams that make it to their platform bracket finals but lose.

Don’t think we didn’t see those dollar signs fill out your eyes, cause we totally did! The actual “Best of the Battlefield” tourney doesn’t begin until November 21, but you can (and should) ‘round up 9 other buddies and register that “WE ARE TEH HAX0RS” clan we’ve heard so much about. Best act quick, though - with just 128 clan spots per console, time is of the essence!
