Eidos recently announced the sequel to Backyard Wrestling dubbed; Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes The Neighborhood. Having learned from their previous efforts, Eidos is bending over backwards to make sure this latest iteration in the series is improved in every way over the original. The addition of online play, Create-A-Wrestler System, and a completely revamped wrestling and animation system are only a few of the major changes planned for this innovative wrestling title.
Using the "Enviro-MentalT" gameplay engine, Eidos boasts that BW2 will sport an unprecidented level of interaction between the in-game personas and their environments. "Harnessing the power of the Enviro-MentalT gameplay engine, Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes The Neighborhood will continue blazing the trail of unprecedented environmental interaction and over the top violence," says Kevin Gill, Brand Manager at Eidos. "The inclusion of online play will finally allow gamers to deliver pain to opponents from around the world. With its completely re-designed and expanded create-a-wrestler system, an impressive new grappling system, more diverse move-set, solid hardcore soundtrack, and online play, BYW2 offers the complete wrestling package."
Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes The Neighborhood is set to be release this fall and will most likely carry an ESRB rating of "M" due to the over-the-top violence the original was well known for. Keep it here for updates on this and other games we'll be covering from E3 this May.
