Backyard Wrestling Sells Like Hotcakes
Well, the PS2 version anyway...
Published: October 14, 2003
Just a short-but-sweet little blurb from the boys and girls over at Eidos. According to them, the PlayStation 2 version of BYW has topped the sales charts for the week ending 10.13.03 (remember, most games are kicked out on Tuesdays, so the weeks flow accordingly) at both EB Games and GameStop, the two largest games retailers.
We've already delved into the BYW build that we were handed a few weeks ago, and should have a full review shortly, but in the mean time, be sure to check out our preview for the latest screens and hands-on impressions of the game in action.
It'll be interesting to see how the PS2 version of BYW (and its Xbox cousin, which ships today) holds up once the more traditional wrestling titles like the upcoming SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain go toe-to-toe in stores. At the very least, those of you who hate wrestling games have something a little different to get your rocks off to now should the jones to jumberjack slam someone into something arise.
