Another big-time developer/publisher in the world of videogames has announced their E3 game line-up! This time it's Eidos Interactive, who put together a line-up groundbreaking enough to take the Electronic Entertainment Expo by storm. With huge PlayStation 2 titles like Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness and even a new Legacy of Kain installment, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, Eidos will undoubtedly make draws drop when debuting their big titles at the E3 show (May 14-16)



"Eidos' partnerships with companies such as Paramount, Sony, and Microsoft are testament to the company's capacity to create strong content that has mass appeal across multiple entertainment mediums," said Rob Dyer, president of Eidos Interactive, US. "Eidos' fully loaded 2003 E3 lineup is an impressive combination of both groundbreaking content and industry-leading technology."



Now without further adieu, let's take a look at Eidos' PS2 titles that will be highlighting E3:



Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home

Forget all of professional wrestling's feeble attempts at becoming more hardcore – this is the real deal. Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home puts gamers into a world of open-ended gameplay, with no restrictions and more ways to punish your opponents than you could imagine. Thumbtacks, barbed wire, light bulbs, stop signs, baseball bats, tables and fire are only a few of the weapons you'll be able to wreck havoc with in the game's highly interactive environments. To become "The King Of Hardcore", you must be able to endure pain as you deal out and take incredible risks (i.e. leaping from breathtaking heights) in order to take the crown in the very real and very brutal world of Backyard Wrestling.



Chain Gang

Eidos' Chain Gang unleashes total animal anarchy! Shackled and forced to work together, Spanx and Redmond are fugitives on the run from an unscrupulous product-testing lab before they undergo one more demented animal experiment. Playing Spanx, gamers will use the disgruntled Redmond as their tool and weapon not to only escape, but also to free other enslaved animals and sabotage the evil corporation. Providing an innovative approach to the character-based action genre, Chain Gang combines a unique "chain" gameplay mechanic with in-depth enemy and environment interaction, rich combat and slapstick humor. The result? Player choice triggers an unscripted chain of chaotic, humorous events.



The Italian Job

Based on this summer's blockbuster movie, The Italian Job puts you in the driver seat as you and your band of thieves pull off the ultimate heist. This high-octane arcade racer will get your adrenaline pumping as you attempt a frantic getaway with your souped-up MINI Cooper fully loaded with stolen gold. Gamers tear through subway stations, rip apart golf courses and plow through storm drains with the cops hot on their tail. Forget watching The Italian Job in the theatres – experience it yourself!



Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness

The gaming world's most famous heroine, Lara Croft, like you've never seen her, in a Tomb Raider like you've never experienced. Lara returns as both hunter and hunted relying on her ingenuity, athleticism and a new edge to her personality. The game also introduces a new playable character, Kurtis Trent, who works alongside Lara to help clear her name and clean up a most desperate situation. Players must traverse an intricately detailed world, taking them from the back streets of Paris to the depths of Prague. The Angel of Darkness employs a brand new engine built from the ground up to fully utilize the power of PlayStation 2 and the latest PC graphics cards.



Legacy of Kain: Defiance

This game is the next chapter in the epic Legacy of Kain series. Legacy of Kain: Defiance is an action adventure game featuring more action and intense combat then ever before, including thrilling combo moves and telekinetic powers that manipulate the environment and enemies. Gamers take control of two powerful and highly evolved vampires: Kain, an all-powerful demigod, and Raziel, a demonic angel of death. Each character is equipped with a legendary sword, and the two must battle through a world loaded with conflict and intrigue as they attempt to unravel their destinies and defeat the dark forces that seek to condemn their world to eternal damnation.
