The artist list for Amplitude, Harmonix Music Systems' follow-up to the grossly underappreciated Frequency, has already revealed songs from Weezer, Garbage, David Bowie and Quarashi, among others, but it seems the big names keep on coming. Sony recently announced that five more artists have jumped onto the music making bandwagon, bringing the full announced (there's still plenty they haven't revealed) list to a whopping 14 artists. The full list thus far includes:
Baldwin Brothers
blink 182
David Bowie
Dieselboy
Freezepop
Garbage
Herbie Hancock
Logan 7
Manchild
Mekon
Papa Roach
Production Club
Quarashi
Weezer
This, of course, isn't the full list, which includes music from some of the guys at Harmonix themselves, who crafted some of the most interesting electronica tracks for Frequency. All told, the full song list will weigh in at over 25 songs encompassing genres from Old-School Dance, Trip-Hop, Hip-Hop, Rock, Nu-Metal, Synth-Pop, Rap, Dance, Trance, Turntablism, Rap-Rock and plenty more.
"We are thrilled to offer a deeper and wider selection of artists to the Amplitude music roster," boasted Ami Blaire, SCEA's Director of Product Marketing. "With additional tracks from Papa Roach, Baldwin Brothers, Production Club, Manchild, as well as Herbie Hancock, we've provided a unique forum for all of our PlayStation 2 fans, young and old, to enjoy music not just from their stereo but game console."
Jacoby Shaddix, Papa Roach's lead singer, seems to agree.
"I'm stoked on the overall creativity in Amplitude," Shaddix oozed in what was definitely not a marketing quote. "The graphics and intense competitions are insane."
Amplitude is only months away, and rest assured that we'll be the first to freak all over it as more info is made available.
