25 To Life Soundtrack Revealed

Well, half of it, anyway, but what's here is impressive.

Licensed music in games is all the rage these days. We can thank games like GTA3 for that, but it was something that was bound to happen, much like music and movie stars getting into their own games. It's not always a good thing, and in a lot of cases seems like more of a waste of money than anything else, but Eidos and Avalanche's 25 To Life soundtracks sound like anything but a waste.

Sure, you've got to have a penchant for hip-hop, but for those disgusted with the current scene, they'll be happy to know a few of the tracks from the first half of the soundtrack that Eidos released today are deliciously old-school. Artists like ghetto poet/teacher KRS-One, Public Enemy, 2Pac, Geto Boys and Gang Starr are hopefully just the tip of the iceberg. The first half of the track list is as follows:

KRS-ONE -- Black Cop
2Pac featuring Nutso -- Ghetto Star
Gangstarr -- Code of the Streets
Geto Boys -- Yes Yes Ya’ll
Ghostface Killah featuring Jadakiss -- Run
Public Enemy -- Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos
Xzibit -- Enemies
Jackpot -- To the Finish
UTP Playas -- Nolia Clap
Tech N9ne -- My Wife My Bitch My Girl
Tego Caldron -- Circa De Mi Neighborhood
Grafh -- Bad Company
Shade Sheist & N.U.N.E. --You Got
Locura Terminal -- Prisonero
Blaze feat/Esham and ABK -- Shot-gun

We'll probably get the second round of songs (and just as probably, they'll cause the same meltdown to our poor spell checker) in the next few days. We'll let you know when we do.
