Valve Makes Portal 2 Official

It's going to be longer, it'll be out by Christmas and it won't be playable on a PS3.

So, do you want the good or the bad news first? Well, I'll just start with the good one. GameInformer released its April cover today, revealing that Portal 2 is indeed coming (you can read up on our original story here). At this point little is known about the game itself, aside from the fact that it's coming as a full-fledged sequel that supposedly is multiple hours longer than its predecessor.

The site goes on advertising its April issue's 12-page cover story by promising “the first details on Portal 2's new gameplay mechanics, storyline, and some surprising new twists.“. In other news GameInformer continues revealing bits of information including the fact that GLaDOS is still alive (see what I did there?) and players will encounter new characters as well as previously unexplored areas from the Aperture Science labs. The game will also feature a completely separate two-player co-op mode that lets players jump into the role of two new protagonists.

Now to the bad news. Jeez, having to say this really hurts. Valve has confirmed to Eurogamer that Portal 2 is coming exclusively to PC and Xbox 360 this holiday season. Well, there you have it. Valve still hates us Sony fanboys. If you're looking for me, I'll be in some dark corner weeping my heart out. (Editor's Note: Thanks Valve! See what you did? Shame on you!)
