Crystal Dynamics Announces New Lara Croft Adventure
Tombs not being Raided?
Published: March 4, 2010
Let me be the first to say I have loved Crystal Dynamics since the Total Eclipse days (even if the company name does sound like they make transistor radios), and the fact that they supported the 3D0 so heavily (publishing Toys for Bob's fantastic games The Horde and Star Control 2) made me love them even more before they introduced me to Lara Croft (well reintroduced me after Core dumped her). So it is with great pleasure that I can tell you that Lara has finally escaped from the endless series of Tombs (that she seemingly didn't spend THAT much time in) and is ready to launch her new self-titled (I seriously accidentally typed tittied there first) series EXCLUSIVELY available as a digital download, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
“This is a really exciting project for Crystal Dynamics, we have created something completely new and very different to what people might be expecting,” said Darrell Gallagher, General Manager of Crystal Dynamics. “Lara Croft is such an iconic character in videogames, with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light we have created what we believe is a truly original digital experience.”
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be shown strictly “behind closed doors” at this year’s Game Developers Conference beginning on March 9th, including to our very own Sam Bishop, so expect to see a lot more information in the coming weeks. A lot more.
