Let's fight like gentlemen (and ladies).

Capcom confirms three long-rumored additions to the cast of Super Street Fighter IV with a package of screenshots. Previously, we were shown T. Hawk and Dee Jay, representing the last stragglers from the Street Fighter II era. Adon, Cody and Guy return from Street Fighter Alpha (though Adon originally appeared in the very first Street Fighter, and the other two hail from Final Fight). An entirely original character has also been shown, in the form of Juri, a South Korean taekwondo master.

This latest revelation focuses on three warriors from the Street Fighter III series: Ibuki, Makoto and Dudley. Ibuki is a teenage girl who also happens to be a ninja, and she tends to leap around a lot and throw little pointy things about. Makoto is a strong female karateka who doesn't go in for any of that fancy fireball stuff that most karate practitioners in the Street Fighter universe seem to. She favors dashing all over the place and smashing her foes with hard blows. Finally, we have Dudley, the sophisticated gentleman boxer who always brings a touch of class to the arena.

So far, the roster boasts nine additional characters over the previous game, and with Capcom now saying that there will be ten altogether, we can expect at least one more to be revealed between now and release. That release is scheduled for April 27, 2010 in North America, with the European release following three days later. Considering that we awarded top marks to the previous version in last year's review, it should be no surprise that we are greatly anticipating the new, more super incarnation.
