It's not every day that we give out 10's in our reviews here at TPS. So you know that a game is pretty special when it happens. When you give out scores like that, people tend to be a little skeptical. People just don't want to believe. In this case, however, we can feel a little redeemed...

Sidhe, New Zealand's largest game production studio, today announced that its original title, Shatter® for PlayStation®Network has won the Best Downloadable Title Award at the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) Game Developers Awards 2009. Shatter is a retro-inspired brick-breaking game that merges familiar action with a modern-crafted production approach.

“Receiving this award is a major accolade for Shatter that recognizes the hard work the team put into making something unique and exciting,” said Mario Wynands, Managing Director of Sidhe. “The awards featured a number of great titles from around the region, and we appreciate the judges rewarding the risks we took in making the game.”

The GDAA Game Developer Awards are the annual awards recognizing excellence in games development by Australian and New Zealand developers. The Awards were announced during the Game Connect Asia Pacific conference and trade exhibition currently being held in Melbourne, Australia.

Yeah, it might be true that TPS is entirely funded by a hyper-intelligent group of kangaroos, but that doesn't mean our Australian affiliation skewed our scores, ok?
