[Shipping Out] October 15th
SHOTEH FOCK OP!!!
Published: October 15, 2008
Welcome to Shipping Out, our weekly notice of all them thar games that ship from publishers to retailers in preparation for their street date a day later. In many cases, these games won't be on store shelves until tomorrow, but in the interest of getting the word out, letting the PR departments have their fancy quotes and saving us sanity as the weekly releases pile up, we're going to be consolidating everything down into one handy little news story at the end of the day, along with this description. Neat, eh? And lazy!
It's the TPS way.
[PlayStation 2]
[Dokapon Kingdom]
Atlus USA, the biggest little publisher around, today announced that Dokapon Kingdom, the addictive new party RPG for Wii and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, is in stores now. An exciting mix of traditional RPG character development and addictive multiplayer fun, Dokapon Kingdom provides thrilling new ways to let your closest friends and loved ones know how much they suck and how much better than them you are. Triumph over (and alienate) your friends and family with what Nintendo Power calls, “a fantastic party game.” Warning: Relationship counseling not included. If you're wondering what on earth this is or where it's come from, feel free to give our preview of the game a good read. Alternatively you can just go have a gander at the weird screenshots.
[PlayStation 3]
[Rock Revolution]
Konami today announced Rock Revolution, an authentic music-based video game poised to re-define the rhythm genre, has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. Brought to market by the company that created the music videogame genre with breakthrough titles such as DanceDanceRevolution, Karaoke Revolution, Beatmania and Guitar Freaks, Rock Revolution aims to provide an unmatched rock experience.
Rock Revolution ships with over 40 rock songs that span a broad range of bands and eras, along with a wide variety of downloadable songs available. When players take the stage, they can choose from up to 15 realistic characters, where they will perform in stunning unique and authentic venues. Additionally, up to six players can rock together online, or up to three players offline can jam in modes such as versus, co-op and band battle. Rockers can also tackle the game solo in the Career mode, where they are tasked with taking their band to the top of the charts by performing songs, learning techniques, creating set lists, and completing challenges. Can it stand up to the combined might of Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2 though?
Publishers: want to make sure we've got your games in our weekly Shipping Out blurbs? Just kick over those shipping press releases to ShippingOut@TotalPlayStation.com and we'll make sure they get tossed into the rotation.
