Logitech announced a whole suite of crazy peripherals today, one for almost every platform imaginable. Set to ship in August, they have a brand new wheel for PlayStation 3 owners, one they hope rivals anything else available for the platform, and a new carrying case for PlayStation Portable owners that looks to put anything else on the market to shame. They also unveiled a keyboard for the Nintendo Wii and a carrying case for the Nintendo DS set to release around the same time.

Logitech's Driving Force Wireless wheel for PlayStation 3 uses 2.4 wireless technology and promises to give lag-free control from up to 30 feet away. The one-piece design also incorporates force-feedback technology and an expandable lap rest so that players aren't chained to a desk or table while they game. It also works with PlayStation 2 games and comes with 1 USB port. When it ships, it'll set players back $99.99, but if you don't have a wheel and you've been itching to try one out, Logitech's might be a great solution.

But the PlayStation Portable didn't want to be left out when it came to new gear, so Logitech made the PlayGear Pocket Slim case, which promises to protect the 2000 series PSP from every bump and thud on the road. The fully customizable polycarbonate shell fits the PSP like a glove, while the design even allows the PSP to be played while still in the case. It's even compatible with Sony's Extended Life Battery.

Looks like August will be a gear heavy month. No wonder Logitech joined in on the action.
