For those of you who picked up a slimmed down PS3 on the cheap but long for the media capabilities of the more expensive versions, Nyko's got a pretty nifty solution for you.
"We found that many of our customers who had purchased the popular 40 GB version of the PS3, which has less USB ports and no media card reader, were looking for an affordable solution to expand with these features," said Chris Arbogast, Director of Marketing at Nyko Technologies. Not a company to let an untapped market go to waste, they've come up with a device they're calling the "Media Hub". It's a little black box that features 3 USB ports and a media card reader that supports all of the expected formats. It plugs into one of the existing PS3 USB ports, which powers the device, and paves the way for you to plug a bunch of stuff in to your... bigger black box. Isn't technology great?
Nyko has priced the Media Hub at $19.99, making it a viable solution for anyone who really wants some more ports on their PS3 without having to shell out for a more expensive model.
