Sony announced a whole suite of things today that covers their entire range of products for the remainder of 2008 and early 2009. The sheer volume of games they have on tap is a little overwhelming, but it shows that Sony is completely dedicated to their platforms and won't leave gamers in a bind.

"For the second half of 2008 and beyond, we will see a spectacular line up of triple-A titles and original gaming content that will satisfy PlayStation fans across the board," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Product Marketing for SCEA. "Highly anticipated games such as Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, and Killzone 2, along with original content such as SIREN: Blood Curse and PixelJunk Eden, demonstrate SCEA’s passion to lead the market by continuing to deliver unique gaming content and revolutionary sequels to our best-selling franchises."

PlayStation 3 has been moving some units this year and the software that's coming up is sure to move a lot more, especially the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots PlayStation 3 Bundles that will be hitting the market. With the decisive victory that the Blu-ray camp has won over HD-DVD and the uptake of HDTVs, it's only a matter of time before PlayStation 3 becomes the defacto "must-have" item for anyone needing high definition content in its myriad of forms.

It also helps that Sony has Home coming this year, along with in-game XMB. The revitalization of the PlayStation Store and the content that's hitting the 'net soon are mind blowing. Sony really is coming into its own this generation, even if it had a rather slow start.

Without further adieu, here are the upcoming games for the rest of 2008 thru early 2009:
