GRID Demo on PlayStation Store

Detailed racing meets rolling crashes.

Codemaster's GRID landed on the PlayStation Store today, May 8th, 2008, with a bang. Featuring the eBay Motors Challenge, the demo lets players race using the eBay Motors branded Ford Mustang GT-R, built and modified with a feature complete custom body kit and 445HP engine. It fits into GRID's fast-paced event styled gameplay.

Players will get the chance to submit their fastest lap time using the Ford Mustang GT-R to http://community.grid-game.com/win-ebay-mustang, the Mustang itself being the ultimate prize. The top five players will be flown to San Francisco to attend the U.S. launch event for GRID on June 4th and compete in one final racing challenge for the Mustang GT-R.

But the demo is packed with more than just the single car and track. Players can race in Japan using a Nissan S15 Silvia in the Advan Drift Trophy at Yokohama Docks and in Spain on the Jarma circuit in Spain with the BMW 320si, as well as the Mustang GT-R in the eBay Challenge at San Francisco.

"Codemasters Racing Studio redefined off road racing with DiRT last year, and we are confident that the launch of GRID, from the same acclaimed racing team, will again redefine the racing genre by putting the focus in racing games back on the racing itself," said Peter Chan, director of business development at Codemasters, Inc. "With eBay Motors integration, we are able to provide an exciting opportunity for racing fans to experience the GRID demo while rewarding them with a chance to win an amazing, one-of-a-kind eBay Motors Mustang."

GRID is due out on June 3rd for PlayStation 3 but since the demo has dropped, you might as well start getting good. You'd need the practice.
