LittleBigPlanet is one of those games that comes along every so often and totally blows away every preconception you had about game design. With its sprawling player character customization system and a fluid, fun interface, you have to wonder if the developers behind it aren't just a little bit genius in their own right. Well, come June 23rd, we'll find out.

Media Molecule, the developers behind LittleBigPlanet, will be sending its co-founders Mark Healey and Alex Evans to chat about LittleBigPlanet in a keynote speech titled “Media Molecule, Little Team, Big Ideas” at this years Paris Game Developers Conference on June 23rd-24th. Healey and Evans will talk about game design and how to keep the process creative and open. They'll also talk about user-generated content and how its changed over the course of time.

And they'll talk about LittleBigPlanet, of course. Because of their combined work on games like Fable, Theme Park, and the Black and White series, the pair have a working knowledge about creating something that puts players in control of their user experience.

“The first build of LittleBigPlanet was the most fun and exciting game I played in 2006, leading up to its iconic reveal in Phil Harrison’s GDC keynote in 2007,” said Jamil Moledina, Executive Director, Game Developers Conference Events.  “Yet one of the most tantalizing and little-discussed elements of the game is the degree to which the toolset empowers the gamer to become the developer.  This represents a turning point in the game industry, and we anticipate the Paris GDC attendees taking voluminous notes in this detailed examination of the building blocks of this highly coveted title.”

Congratulations, guys. You're the talk of the town, and rightfully so. Here's to much success, not just with your keynote, but in the year to come.
