Motley Crue Releases New Single On Rock Band

Now we see what direction the music industry will begin moving in the coming years.

In the '80s, Motley Crue was a revolutionary band, with stage antics that defied imagination and debauchery that hit the front page of newspapers across the country. They were the “coolest of cool,” the “raddest of rad”. These days, however, they lost quite a bit of their luster. That's why they're trying to up the ante with a brand new Rock Band release that's certain to send other bands scrambling to catch up.

Not content to sit back on their laurels and let their albums sell themselves, Motley Crue, with Harmonix and MTV Games' blessing, are releasing their new single “Saints of Los Angeles” from their upcoming album onto the Rock Band's built-in PlayStation Store on April 17th, 2008. The track, which will be $0.99 to download via the Playstation Store, uses the original master recording.

This track brings Rock Band's total downloadable tracks to 80, on top of the game's 58 original pack in tracks. With more than 6 million songs purchased by gamers since November 20th, 2007, Rock Band has solidified itself as the de facto, one stop shop for anything rhythm based. Really, why get anything else with this much content and only more to come?
