Baroque Finds a Home in Europe

Rising Star Games satisfying the quivering masses.

To all my friends across the pond, I'm sorry. American audiences get to experience the newest Baroque adventure long before you do. But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Rising Star Games has announced that they will be bringing the dark PlayStation 2 dungeon crawling RPG to Europe on Friday, June 27th!

I know there's a lot of folks who know nothing about the game or the series. Well, you're missing out. In Baroque, the player awakens to find the world in ruins. Something has stripped humanity of anything human and left it a wretched mess. The player must ascend a mysterious tower to find absolution for all that has happened, battling foes, scouring for new items, and unlocking secrets as they progress.

The game is all about hardcore dungeon-crawling. If that's not your cup of tea, then Baroque isn't for you. But anyone who loves that sort of thing will find a game where death serves as a story mechanism; the more you die, the more the world opens up before your eyes. And you can customize your character through the process, using items and weapons and shape exactly how your character fights.

It's been awhile since there was a good dungeon crawler released for any system. It's good to see that Rising Star Games has Europe covered. Now, if only other developers would get to it.
