Stuntman: Ignition Meets Gorgeous CG Trailers
Pre-rendered has never looked so good.

Now, normally I don't get all excited over trailers, but this time is a little different. Why? Because Pendulum, one of the leading digital animation studios for all things video game and entertainment related, is working on four HD trailers for THQ's Paradigm Entertainment Stuntman: Ignition.
Pendulum, who make some jaw dropping gorgeous CG, and I don't even like CG most of the time, is going hog wild, drawing on inspiration from superhero, action, spy, and comedy films. They've crafted the look, the style, the motion capture, voice acting, script, and more for the trailers. These things are set to rival some of Hollywood's best CG films for crying out loud.
"When you combine Pendulum's talented team and their ability to create visually compelling content for games, with Paradigm's desire to replicate a true Hollywood style trailer, there was no doubt we would get a stunning cinematic product for the title," says Jim Galis, Executive Producer for THQ-Paradigm. "Pendulum's attention to detail, their amazing facial animation software, all around competency from storyboard to render and their dedication to a superior final piece went above and beyond our expectations."
You have to take his word for it. If you knew how detailed Pendulum is when it comes to their work, your mind would be blown. Just the clothing alone was intense. They had to build a wardrobe from scratch, elements that they hope are reusable in future projects. Some of the characters in the trailers required very specific clothing sets.
I'm pretty excited about these trailers. Call me crazy, but they might be fun to watch when all is said and done.
