Turok Gets Five New Reasons to Fire It Up

Dinos gone wild!

Dinosaurs are taking over the world, or that's what Touchstone would have you believe. They might not be that far off the mark, since the Propaganda Games developed Turok has shifted one million units between the PS3 and Xbox 360 since it's release. Maybe they're on to something.

Touchstone couldn't leave well enough alone, though, so they've decided to throw out a five multi-player map pack called the Velociraptor Pack for $4.99 that you can grab on PlayStation Network now.

"Turok has captured the imagination of video game players throughout the world," said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Touchstone.  "We're now able to expand the multiplayer experience with the release of new maps.  These five new maps are sure to satisfy Turok players who are hungry for more multiplayer challenges."

So what's included in the pack:

Co-Op – A new map for 2 to 4 players. After being captured and held in a Mendel-Gruman facility designed for dinosaurs, players have to break out and make it to the rescue chopper before the Wolf Pack troops use them for dino chow. I can hear the Arnold jokes flying already.

Desolation – A new swamp-based map with structures for helicopters and transports.

Sentinel – One of the largest Turok maps to date and the setting for Kane's orbital defense arrays, which you might remember from the single-player campaign. There's also a few big dinos to keep things interesting.

Inconclusive Tests – The Testing Grounds map is swath in nightfall. Oh, yeah, watch out for the raptors.

A Rivalry Continues – The struggle for the compound from A Heated Rivalry isn't over just yet. Now nighttime has claimed the map.

If it's been awhile since you jumped into Turok, you now have five reasons to fire up that disc. See you inside.
