Sega and Marvel Reveal Voice Cast for Iron Man

It's about what you'd expect.

There's a lot of talk surrounding the Iron Man movie due out on May 2nd, 2008, so it would seem that the game should have an equal amount of buzz. It appears to be doing all right for itself, as folks are pretty excited about playing Tony Stark. Considering the game is due out the same day as the movie, it only makes sense that the movie actors would reprise their roles for the small screen.

Well, that seems to be the case, as Robert Downey Jr., Terence Howard, and Shaun Toub will step into the virtual bodies of Tony Stark, Lt. Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes, and Yinsen, respectively, once again.

To those who don't know the story of Iron Man, and don't have the means to read the entire comic catalog, there's not much to it. Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist, is captured in the Middle East and forced to construct a weapon he'd really rather not. Instead of doing as his captors' have demanded, however, he builds his own weapon, the Iron Man suit, which is the means to his escape. Thus he became Iron Man.

In the game, players get to jump into the boots of Tony Stark and blow up as much stuff as they'd like. The game draws on the story from the movie, so fans will be able to easily enjoy both. Players can even customize the armor suit as they progress through the game.

I was never a big fan of Iron Man, myself, but the movie does look great. Typically movie licensed games aren't all that fun but the Marvel universe lends itself well to gaming, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that this game isn't a mess when it releases. Make us proud, Sega.
