EA Has a New Chief Operating Officer
What a pleasant young man.

EA is doing a little top level shuffling these days, perhaps to reinvigorate its direction and establish itself as the de facto brand when it comes to gaming. Honestly, there's no telling what they're doing, but they're doing it anyway, whatever “it” may be.
Suffice it to say that EA has a new Chief Operating Officer (COO for all the cool kids) in John Pleasants. In this position, he'll run almost the entire show, handling the Global Publishing Organization, Corporate Communications and Government Affairs, and online centric teams. That's a lot of responsibility for one man but obviously someone thinks he can get the job done.
“John’s experience as a business operator, his knowledge of online consumer relationships and his ability to lead large global teams will be a big asset to EA,” said John Riccitiello, CEO of EA. “He will be a close partner to me and to the executives that lead our four Labels.”
With that kind of faith, how can you go wrong?
“This is a phenomenal opportunity and there’s no better time to be joining EA,” said John Pleasants. “John Riccitiello and the team at EA have laid out the right plan to take EA forward by building innovative products, expanding digital revenues, and extending its strengths in global publishing. I’m excited about the challenge of leading these initiatives and working with this talented team.”
Mr. Pleasants credentials are impeccable. He's been part of Revolution Health Group, Ticketmaster, and Frito-Lay, so he should be able to find a way to get into the consumers' wallets when they least expect it. His position begins immediately.
